What We Do ...
Our revived mission is grounded in four programs and initiatives that have been specifically developed to accomplish change and advancement of legal education in the Mekong Subregion. These programs represent more than a decade of collaboration between law scholars and legal education professionals, administrators and students in the Asian and the United States alike. Each program plays an pivotal roll in breaking ground on providing better access to a global legal education for law students in the China-Mekong subregion.
Lancang-Mekong International College of Law Project
An initiative to bring together students from the Greater Mekong Subregion for study in a two-year Masters-level law degree program, with a focus on solving problems unique to the region.
Law Clinic for Microcredit, Microinsurance and Microsurety: A prospective law clinic providing an opportunity for law students, under the guidance of licensed lawyers, to provide pro bono legal advisory services to borrowers of microcredit.
Helping Mekong Region Students Excel Academically
J.D. Initiative: A program to prepare Chinese students to study for a local Bachelors in Law, as well as a U.S. Juris Doctor degree, in six-year integrated joint degree program.
